Bern

The Theatre Division of the Bern Academy of the Arts (HKB) offers innovative degree programs that combine rigorous artistic training with a strong practical foundation, preparing students for careers in stage, screen, and digital performance.

The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre/Acting focuses on the development of each student’s unique artistic voice. Through intensive training in acting, movement, and voice, students gain the tools to work confidently across a variety of theatrical forms and production contexts. Collaboration, ensemble work, and critical reflection are central components of the curriculum.

Established in 2025, the Master of Arts in Acting for Screen & Digital Media is designed for actors who wish to specialize in screen performance and explore emerging digital formats. The program offers advanced training in screen acting, voice-over, motion capture, and digital storytelling. It also supports the development of original work and promotes artistic autonomy in a rapidly changing media landscape.

Located in Bern, the HKB provides a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment with access to a broad cultural network and partnerships across Switzerland and beyond. As a member of Master-Campus-Theatre-CH, the Theatre Division collaborates with the country’s leading theatre schools to offer a wide-reaching and future-oriented education.

Graduates of the HKB Theatre Division are equipped to pursue professional careers on stage, in film and television, and within the expanding field of digital performance.
